Don't Refrain, Vote Membrane!
What is the cell membrane?The cell membrane is a double layer of lapids and proteins that surrounds the entire cell. It is semipermeable and controls what leaves and enters the cell. All cells have them.
Why is it so important?
The cell membrane's importance revolves around 3 main ideas;
1. Regulating what comes in and outside the cell. This allows the cell to get access to molecules and such that the cell needs to survive that other organelles retrieve.
2. Keeps ou bad bacteria and viruses that could be harmful to the cell. Without it the cell could be invaded or taken over.
3. Holds the cell together with no cell membrane there wouldn't be a cell, everything would fall apart from one another.

The cell membrane is crucial, but without the ribosomes producing the proteins, the cell membrane can't be held together. As shown in the image on the campaign, the protein channel binds every component of the cell membrane together so it doesn't fall apart. Additionally, the cell membrane communicates to the organelles and the environment around it. In other words, it's by the receptor proteins that the ribosomes create that allow for this to occur. Imagine the cell membrane without it, would it really be able to function? That's why the ribosome is the most important organelle in the cell. #VoteRiboParty2018
ReplyDeleteIf the cell membrane was so important, than how come it changes itself to make the vacuoles. Unless the cell membrane would create it to be a necessity for the cell to function. Which it is.
ReplyDeleteWe both do the same job to remove unwanted substance from the cell and balance ph levels, except the vacuole is capable to other responsibilities beside a basic membrane. The vacuoles maintain internal fluids for the cell to survive and without that all the organelle would shut down from the lack of nutrients and fluid (water) delivered by the vacuole. Vacuoles stores this vital substances to regulate the amount of food/fluid in the cell. Scientist also theroize that the vacuole takes the main role of destroying harmful bacteria and storing helpful bacteria that will benefit the cell (source;http://www.softschools.com/science/biology/function_of_the_vacuole & https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2493210/).
To conclude the most useful tool in the organelle is the vacuole.
Sure you could say and it is probably true and is also true that no organelle is flawless although did you know that the vacuole has major flaws as well? It probably was not brought to your attention that the vacuole actually is the cause of many deadly diseases one of them being the Danon disease which can kill a man at the age of 19, or that too many vacuoles cause damage too the cell. The cellular membrane was put here in place to keep out bad bacteria and viruses trying to invade the the cell (which the vacuole does not do) and it is the only reason the cell keeps everything together, without it the cell would not exist so i say we let it do it's job.

Did you know that the cell membrane can malfunction if just one part gets altered! Alzheimers and cystic fibrosis are the main diseases caused. Why vote for something that can cause diseases when you can vote for an organelle that helps with structure, waste management, and storing! vote vacuole.
ReplyDeleteThe cell membrane can cause diseases. One of those diseases being cystic fibrosis . It it caused when the the membrane fails to keep a balance of salt within the cell. Why vote for an organelle that could possibly fail at it's job? Vote mitochondria.
